About me

Apart from the obvious lovebird obsession, I am a scientist and a wife, currently living in Montreal, Canada. We recently moved from the Netherlands, together with our birds - peachfaced lovebirds, who are spoiled to bits - and we are building a new life here.

Back in the Netherlands I had an awesome "bird friend" network, where we would exchange experience and advice, have a bird chat once in a while, and support each other through difficult bird drama times. I miss that a lot here in Montreal, so I hope that my blog will become a hangout place for people similar like me - madly in love with their feathered friends.

Let me introduce the gang!

Juju is a naughty lovebird who likes performing stunts in the air. He loves teasing other birds (including us) and is a true womanizer. He is quite an attention whore and will demand it from everyone, including our guests. His colours are aqua (the off-white pink-ish face and an orange band) pallid-ino (he carries both greenish pallid and a yellow ino genes).

Didi (comes from Daisy Duck) is a really cool, relaxed but a bit moody lovebird female. She is really vocal and talkative (hence her name). She doesn't like to sit next to Juju while they are on the shoulder, but will snuggle with him in the cage. Didi has a weird attraction to the wood shavings on the bottom of her cage, she will dig herself into the pile and will just sit there. She is a classic ino (also known as lutino).
